  DRIVERS BE AWARE IF YOU POLICY IS UNDERWRITTEN BY UNITED EQUITABLE INSURANCE COOMPANY The claims manager at United Equitable Insurance Company of Skokie, Ron Clark, denied a auto theft claim after he said the Chrysler company informed him that it would be impossible to steal a 2006 M300 without the use of Chrysler keys and there is no record of a M300 theft ever covered by insurance in the United States. The exclusion in their policy does not cover a theft if keys were used. The vehicle was purchased used from New Rogers Auto Group in Chicago in August of 2006. The owner received one key on the day of the vehicle sale and waited three days for the salesperson to obtain the second key from an unknown person. The vehicle was stolen off the street in the south side Pullman area where the owner parked to board the Metra train in October of 2008. Robin Tillery, an insurance analyst at The Illinois Department of Insurance supported the theory given by United Equitable as a basis for the claim denial. Although they could not provide any proof to support their claim, the only keys issued to her by the dealership were on her person at the time of the theft and since the vehicle was never recovered they could not provide a physical inspection report. This standard set by the Illinois Department of Insurance allows the writing in the exclusion of the policy not to cover a theft unless the vehicle is recovered and it is proven physical force was used.
