  Twitter.com - Follow us! Nick Jonas takes to the stage all by himself-we're recapping his first big show. That's all up next on clevvertv. Hey guys-I'm Joslyn Davis welcoming you back to clevvertv. It's a new year for all of us, and even Nick Jonas is taking a big leap with his new solo career. Nick Jonas and his band, The Administration, just did their first show at the House of Blues in Dallas, and the reviews across the board are looking very good. Fans and industry insiders were really interested to see just what exactly Nick would be like on his own. One major newspaper reported that "the first five songs of the 16 or so in the hour-and-a-half concert IMMEDIATELY showcased a more mature side of the 17 year old. Who knew he had aa fantastically limber voice...and a Prince-like falsetto?" The paper then went on to say what a lot of fans at the show were probably thinking-that was that "one can only hope that Jonas' side project attracts the broader audience it deserves." Judging from the huge crowd he attracted in Dallas, it doesn't seem like Nick will have trouble drawing fans in. The concert was a mixture of original songs and covers, including "Fireflies" by Owl City and "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon. Nick actually forgot a whole verse to "Fireflies," but he laughed it off and asked the crowd to help him out with the lyrics.   Presented at UIST (ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology) www.acm.org PAPER ABSTRACT: We present everybodylovessketch, a gesture-based 3D curve sketching system for rapid ideation and visualization of 3D forms, aimed at a broad audience. We first analyze traditional perspective drawing in professional practice. We then design a system built upon the paradigm of ilovesketch, a 3D curve drawing system for design professionals. The new system incorporates many interaction aspects of perspective drawing with judicious automation to enable novices with no perspective training to proficiently create 3D curve sketches. everybodylovessketch supports a number of novel interactions: tick-based sketch plane selection, single view definition of arbitrary extrusion vectors, multiple extruded surface sketching, copy-and-project of 3D curves, freeform surface sketching, and an interactive perspective grid. Finally, we present a study involving 49 high school students (with no formal artistic training) who each learned and used the system over 11 days, which provides detailed insights into the popularity, power and usability of the various techniques, and shows our system to be easily learnt and effectively used, with broad appeal.   The documentary Meat the Truth is the first major project undertaken by the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation. Meat the Truth is a high-profile documentary, presented by Marianne Thieme (leader of the Party for the Animals), which forms an addendum to earlier films that have been made about climate change. Although such films have convincingly succeeded in drawing public attention to the issue of global warming, they have repeatedly ignored one of the most important causes of climate change, namely: intensive livestock production. Meat the Truth has drawn attention to this by demonstrating that livestock farming generates more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than all cars, lorries, trains, boats and planes added together. The Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation chose to compile the best scientific information on climate change and livestock farming, which is presently available and to translate this for a broader audience. The film was produced by Claudine Everaert and Gertjan Zwanikken. The calculations on greenhouse gas emissions used in the film derive from and have been validated by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the UN (FAO), the World Watch Institute, the Institute for Environmental Studies of the Free University Amsterdam and numerous other authoritative sources.
